Damp

I remember the smell of the first rain. The rain water hit the ground as if to consume the fire like heat of summer. Nature's way of putting off the heat seemed so delightful.

I remember the smell of drenching in the same rain on the terraces. All the dust would mix up with the water flowing towards the pipes. One moment, my feet would be dirty and the next, clean with fresh rain. Just like the shore fun at the beach.

I remember the smell of my first plant. The small hole I dig up by the side of the drain, on a street where only a couple of bikes and scooters could go two way, housed the stem that I procured at a friend's. It was a consequence of a lesson in 'Stem propagation' of flowering plants. It grew quite well the last time I visited the town, years ago, and gives plenty of flowers. Indian streets stir up quite an emotion in elderly people looking to pick flowers for daily puja during the morning walk hours .

I remember the smell of the seasons, smell of the fresh jasmine, smell of the Eucalyptus trees, smell of the old books and the leaves and petals kept pressed in them, smell of powders from the flour mill, smell of the petroleum from Daddy's scooter and this list will go on. Indeed a childhood filled with memories of odors.

Yes

It took a while before I could find the 'Create new post' button. So was it with LinkedIn. Surprised to see how the networking sites are on an everyday battle to keep the users. Phew!!

For a long time, it kept occurring to me that blogging has lost its sheen because we all have shifted to 'short' opinions, updates and shorter quality moments. Is short really sweet? Or is it just a new 'smart' word for impatience? I do agree that it takes a lot of articulation to be concise and precise, all at the same time. Its quite a talent. To top it, it is a skill I never mastered. But I dont find myself reading anything that says 'Read more...' anymore!

And oh how I cannot complete this post without a mention of the all-happy, all-celebrating vibrant social networking pages! I dont remember the last time I saw a worthy post that had as many likes or comments as a new profile picture. That established, it is interesting how a typical stream of news feed paints a beautiful picture of the world. At the risk of sounding all old and grown up, I must admit it bothers me how it influences the young adults into looking at the colorful 'perfect' world. And I need ask this question...Since when has Facebook become law? Why should anyone necessarily announce why and how happy they are? Besides, someone please help me with the definition of a 'private moment'!!

Para Bhaasha Chitralu

13 (Tzameti) - Brilliant screenplay. Crazy concept, though.

Amelie Poulain - Picture perfect frames. Subtle idea exploited in a nice way.

Trois Couleurs - Liked Rouge the best. Irene Jacob is a serene beauty.

Tale of 2 sisters - Sorry. Not too sure if I have interpreted the climax the right way.Never bothered to discuss it with anyone for the fear of being ridiculed. :P

REC 1 & 2 - Looking for an absolute thriller/horror ? Well, this one is for you!

Eskiya - A glimpse of life in Istanbul a decade and a half ago. Liked the simplicity of the movie.

Chronicles from Lone-lands

Full moon and shine
Winter trees, dry and vain
Symbols of hope, despair and pain
Its a cold night again
Stillness in every vein
All I hear in the head is..
'Refrain!'

Tired
of
words
lines
&
thoughts that cant be put into words.

Kites

we all are
Of different shapes
And colours
Swaying and struggling

Its not the wind
Its not the size

Its the loved ones
We are tethered to
We dance to
We fly to

Those hands that make all the difference

In the name of love,
Amen.

Dots

of no-connection.
Weird, it looks to me.
Is it too bad when one doesnt feel connected?
Not to one or two people in one's life...
but to a bunch of them??
All at a time?
Is it cruel if the bunch includes members of family?
Worser if that does not bother no matter how hard one tries?

Defective piece.

Not too gross a description for someone who had 4 tooth extractions.

-------------------------------------------

An all time favourite. This is.Thoroughly in love with the way their relation has been portrayed.A must watch for this generation couples who have no dearth of reasons to break up!!And for those wannabe couples to appreciate the meaning of a relationship. And for all the women/girls out there who think their men/guys are the solutions to every problem.

Gal talk: In love with Bhanumati Ramakrishna's jewellery in the movie!! It made me realise that fashion is walking back into the past with the so-called 'antique' jewellery! :)

'Orange'is, probably, the best Telugu music album released in 2010.

Fired

up neurons...blurred vision...messed up table and bed.

It totally freaks me out to think of tomorrow's exam which is gonna span from 9:30am to 5 pm with lunch being provided into the exam hall (sandwiches, sources said). Have never met a prof before who gives this long a time only because he doesnt want people to account their poor performance to lack of time.

I want to vanish.

It

is amazing to have ur bed by the window and have the luxury to enjoy the rain and the wind.
What is equally frustrating is to be sitting by the window pricing options and meddling with the spreadsheets and course material, preparing for an exam that I am bound to flunk.

------------------------------------

So..just shut the books and started wondering...
Which one do I love more?
FH or AS?

Terribly

long since I wrote anything. Here or elsewhere.

All I hear is noise.
Of
Impatient blowing of hundreds of horns
Restless sliding of layers of dreams
And
Nervous collisions of tons of thoughts

An endless circular staircase
And I drive down and down
On two wheels
The one behind half forgotten

Down in the deep
It is still noisy
Thats why they say
It is all in the head.

----------------------------------

I still havent really understood what I have written.
Just trying to go by the belief: Write. No matter what.
